The last time we did something like this is for the annual meeting of the Texas Oil and Gas Association in January. We were at the last meeting and a very well known member of our organization gave us the opportunity to sell his skills. It was a very successful meeting: he sold his skills like he was selling his car. He was able to convince other members of the industry to buy his services for less than the full cost of the meeting. He didnt charge us to do the meeting.

The best way to sell a service is to charge for it. The same goes for what we do at the Texas Oil and Gas Association, where we sell services to the industry. We try to get people to buy services, so in this case we charged for the meeting.

When you sell stuff, you are selling yourself.
