It is a common and frustrating habit in a lot of people’s lives.
Asset management is one of those things that is so pervasive that it’s almost impossible to avoid it. Sure, it’s a very real phenomenon that happens in various companies and people just don’t pay attention to it. But there are ways to take care of it.
When you start going through your things that you don’t really need anymore, you’ll find that you have a bunch of things that you can donate to charity. This is a great thing because you can give away your unwanted items, but there are also a lot reasons to keep things around that you want to keep.
That’s why I encourage people to donate items that they don’t use from their own homes. If you need an old piece of clothing or a kitchen item that was broken by a tornado and you dont really need it anymore, donate it to charity. If you have a few items in storage that you need to donate, do it as soon as you know you need it and make sure you get permission from the proper authorities to do so.
Although it’s not something I’m all too familiar with, I have seen a few people donate things that they don’t use from their homes. Some of the items I’ve seen donated are stuff like clothes, mattresses, and other furniture.
Its true that you can donate things you don’t need anymore. I have seen a man donate a few things to charity, including a used mattress he bought for his son. He said it was the only thing he really needed to donate and would be good for a new mattress. I guess he got permission from the authorities and wasnt just throwing it in the garbage.
There are many reasons to donate your things, and most of the time it just means you can’t use them anymore. If you want to donate a mattress, for example, you may want to consider asking your new landlord to give you an additional lease. But it is nice to know that you can donate things that you don’t use, even if you just want to keep them in your home.
A few times in the past, I’ve had it happen to me that my new mattress belonged to my sister and they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I got a new mattress, so I took it and it was not mine. I had to take my sisters out to eat and I had to get the mattress back. I have a little more sympathy for these people than I do for the others.
Its easy to assume that a charity would not care, but most real estate agents/brokers/owners would probably care if they know about a charity. I know I would. It is the sort of thing that would make me cry if I wasn’t already crying.
Real estate agents and brokers usually have a pretty good sense of what a charity is like on the inside, and they’re also pretty good at getting it in the press (in addition to their other jobs). But the charities themselves are generally pretty secretive, and don’t really tell people for whom they’re working. So it’s not really their fault that these people are dealing with this stuff.
