The last day we worked on our stewardship report, the owners of the home were complaining that there was no more room to play games, and that when they left for vacation, their friends wouldn’t be able to stay. So we set out to develop a game club where the owners and employees could play together to keep the home running smoothly.
At the first meeting, we looked at the situation and put that on the agenda for discussion. Everyone agreed that the owners could play their games without any interference from the employees, and that the only way to keep the employees away from the home was to make sure that we were able to play our games at the same time.
While we were thinking about how to make that work, some of our friends were asking if we had any ideas on how to help run the home. We all agreed that we needed to make it easier for the employees to be able to work away from the home, and that we also needed to make sure that the owners could play their games at the same time as the employees.
The problem is that the employees really didn’t listen to us. People were all trying to get us to give them some advice. I’ve been a very busy person who’s often been doing stuff to get things done, which has really only been helpful because I’m much more into these things than they are.
Well, it gets better. The stewardship report is a group effort, where we tried to help everyone understand the importance of having a good work environment. We made it easier for the employees to take their time off and for the owners to play their games at the same time.
Although we all know that the only person who has a right to ask us advice is the one who actually wants to help. In this case, the one who needs to take the time off, so everyone’s still together and can play at the same time.
The problem was that for some reason our company did not have an open policy for the stewardship report. That’s because the one person who actually wanted to help had to leave a few months before the deadline. When you can’t help somebody with a deadline, you can’t help them much.
